Why is water conservation important to the environment?
Fresh water is the basis of all life, but it’s not an endless resource. Becoming more mindful of water use, taking action to keep water sources unpolluted, and protecting complex ecosystems like our wetlands, are imperative to maintaining a healthy environment that supports all life, including ours.
With the environment at the forefront of the design for the entire Garden of Tomorrow project, water conservation and storm water management is a crucial part of the plan.
The Brock Parking Garden will add rain gardens, planted trees and a new rain collection pond that not only efficiently collects rain water but will also become a beautiful feature for visitors to walk over from the parking garden to the Brock Entry Pavilion.
